Phantom, a Yorkshire Terrier, was the inspiration for The Phantom Phleece Co. He was bred by us, and we knew he was special from when he was just three days old. Here he is already showing off for the camera Two weeks after he was born, his Mother almost lost her life due to eclampsia (low calcium), so she could no longer nurse him. We had to take over the round the clock feedings for the litter of four. At first, they did not want to take the bottle, so I laid a fleece blanket over my lap to make them feel more comfortable. Phantom never lost his love for the comforting fleece. In fact, during the teething phase when puppies teeth are very sharp, they would destroy just about any toy I gave them. Until, one day, I gave them their very first fleece rope toy, and they have loved them ever since. They are also good for dogs teeth since they help clean them - so it was the perfect solution. So, I began making more and more toys, and eventually, The Phantom Phleece Co. was born. Even now, whenever I get out the fleece material, Phantom gets all excited, and runs for his own fleece toys.
